Over 50 years ago, in 1972, Daniel Del Prete purchased his first Dunkin’ location at 251 Smith Street in Providence, Rhode Island. Early in his journey, Dan hired a young man, James Lynch, to work as a crew member at his restaurant. Jim was a dedicated worker and moved up the ladder quickly. Dan saw the drive and potential in Jim, enough that Dan asked Jim to become partners. After much thought and consideration, Jim agreed, and the rest was history. This was just the beginning of the Del Prete/Lynch Dunkin’ Donuts Franchise Network.
Today, Dan’s Management Company has expanded to 42 stores and is one of Rhode Island’s top 100 employers. Our restaurants span Rhode Island and Southeast Connecticut, employing over 1000 individuals. In 2019, we opened the first Next Generation Dunkin’ location in Rhode Island and currently have 26 Next Generation locations, with many more to come.
